Dementia Friendly Care Partner Development: Neurodegeneration Care and Communication & Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar®

The program includes a curriculum of 40 hours of dementia and brain health education curriculum for those who plan to be in teaching roles for dementia professionals or students.

Join our dementia education course geared towards Positive Approach to Care® and the most innovative care and communication techniques. Learners will practice hands on skills and practice creating care plans that build on retained strengths of an individual instead of loss. All learners will receive a recognized certificate of completion for 20 hours of dementia specific education.

Includes lessons in improv skills to be flexible in moments of care through Improv, Virtual Dementia Tours®, Positive Approach to Care®, Brain Health Innovation, Basics of Dementia, along with aging and dementia care models and in person practice.

Materials include:

Getting to Know Dementia: Community Training Kit Positive Approach to Care® Dementia Awareness in Bite-Sized Pieces®, Full DFCPD curriculum online access by IU Health Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Service, Improv by Jim Ansaldo, PhD, Instructions for Virtual Dementia Tour® certification. Completion Certificate.

Cost: $200 - $400 - Depending on curriculum needs.

The Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar recognized by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners® (NCCDP) will be provided for those who are not already certified. This seminar gives the attendee the ability to send their certificate of completion to the NCCDP to be globally recognized as a Certified Dementia Practitioner and allows the teacher/trainer to practice dementia care with their students. The CDP is required if you plan to teach this course.
